While the majority of PSAC members work for the federal government, crown corporations or agencies as immigration officers, fisheries officers, food inspectors, customs officers, national defense civilian employees, and the like, an increasing number of PSAC members work in the private sector: in women’s shelters, universities, security agencies and casinos. In Northern Canada, the PSAC represents most unionized workers employed by the governments of the Yukon, Nunavut and the Northwest Territories and some municipalities. PSAC members also work abroad in embassies and consulates. The PSAC strives to enhance its members’ quality of life and has been at the front of a variety of significant and successful campaigns for workplace and human rights, including the struggle for equal pay, enhanced workplace health and safety and the rights of same sex spouses. PSAC is recognized within the labour movement as a leader on equity issues.

PSAC is committed to defend access to quality public services, and to social justice through emergency relief funding, anti-poverty and development work both in Canada and around the world.

To realize our union’s goals and principles, the PSAC is an organization who employs skilled and knowledgeable staff across Canada. We offer a wide range of job opportunities to provide services to all of our members in various fields including representation, union organizing, human rights, education, grievance and adjudication, legal services, communications, Information Technology, Finance, Human Resources, general administration and more.

The PSAC is committed to employment equity and is actively seeking to ensure a representative workforce. We encourage applications from members of equity groups.

Accommodations are available on request for candidates taking part in all aspects of the selection process.
