Training and Development

Employees are encouraged to take advantage of our Bison University courses which are available to all employees. These in-house courses develop general business skills. Driving Career

To become a Driver with Bison Transport you need your Class 1/AZ license. Maintaining a clean driving record is a great way to start down this road. For those with a Class 1/AZ license but little actual driving experience, Bison offers the Driver Finishing Program (DFP). The DFP is an excellent opportunity for you to start in the transportation industry as a Professional Driver. The program is 13 weeks and requires a 2 year commitment.

The Driver Finishing Program consists of:

  • 3 day Driver Orientation
  • Up to 12 weeks of 1-on-1 In-cab instruction
  • Placement in a long haul position upon graduation

Non Driving Career

Apprenticeship Programs:

Get paid for your practical work experience, even while completing high school! Bison will reimburse your tuition costs 
upon successful completion of each apprenticeship level. Bison supports national tractor and trailer apprenticeship certification programs.

New Grad Program:

Bison offers a New Grad Program which provides new graduates with a rotational assignment program in key roles over a 2 year period. A mentor is assigned to give guidance through all job roles, share job related experiences and offer valuable advice and insight on the transportation industry. You must be a university or college graduate of Commerce, Management or Business Administration to qualify.

Summer Opportunities:

Opportunities are available in a variety of departments for students looking to gain valuable hands-on experience. Summer positions often lead to full-time employment upon graduation.
